STAAR Test - Tuesday April 9th - 11th
STAAR Testing is almost here! 4th Grade STAAR Writing will be on April 9th. 3rd and 4th Grade STAAR Math and Reading will be on May 13th and May 14th respectively with makeup testing on the 15th and 16th.
Please make sure that your child:
• gets a good night’s sleep
• gets things together the night before so you’re not rushed in the morning
• starts day in a calm manner
• has a good breakfast
• is NOT late arriving at school
So they can do well on this very important test. It is recommended (but not required) that students bring their lunch on these testing days. Also, there will be no lunch visitors or volunteers allowed on April 9 - 11 and May 13-16 while there is testing.
BOOK FAIR! - March 25th - 29th
Book fair is coming to Canyon Pointe on March 25- 29. We will have our evening shopping on March 26 and will be open until 7:00 pm that evening. Students will be allowed to shop with their class day or on other days if they have money with their teacher's discretion. If you would like to attend the book fair before school with your child, it will be open at 8:00 am and parents with their children can shop at that time and at lunch every day. If you can't make it to book fair but still want to buy your child some books, our online fair is up and going right now through March 30th. The online book fair is at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/cpeslibrary. On that site you can also find instructions on how to place money in an eWallet for your child. Remember we will no longer be able to accept checks at the book fair, If you want to use the eWallet feature, please consider placing money on it early in the week so that your child will have an opportunity to use it. Don't forget the 8.75% sales tax.
If you can spare a couple of hours to help out at Book Fair, we would love to have you. I have put together a sign up genius athttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/409054faba823a3fa7-book. Dress comfortably and come help the students find their books and restock the book fair. I could not run the book fair without the help of volunteers, so thank you very much.
