Syphilis is a bacterial disease
Syphilis is very contagious in early stages. The best way to protect yourself from syphilis is to avoid vaginal, oral ,and anal sex. If you decide to have sexual contact use condoms and oral dams.
Syphilis can be spread by contact with other syphilis sores. Direct contact can happen during vaginal, oral, or anal sex or by kissing.
3 stages
There are different symptoms for each stage.
Primary stage- Painless sores or open ulcers may appear on the vagina, mouth, or anus.
Secondary stage-Happens 3 to 6 weeks after sores appear, body rashes, sore throat, and hair loss.
later stage- It is hard to move certain parts of your body. in late stages of syphilis the disease damages your internal organs and can result in death.
