MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL OPHUS
Dear Fairview Families,
It has been another great week of learning both remotely and in person! Thank you to all families for adjusting your schedules, following our arrival and dismissal plans safely, helping students as needed at home, and continuing to be supportive of our school as we’ve navigated this most recent change. As you saw in my email yesterday, the next opportunity for parents to make a change between hybrid and remote learning is for the start of the third trimester on February 22nd. In order to have enough time to handle the logistics of these changes, parents should email me at dophus@d57.org by February 5th if they are wishing for their child to change from either remote to AM/PM hybrid or from AM/PM hybrid to remote. Please contact me if you have any questions.
One of our struggles we’ve faced this school year has been finding people to serve as substitute teachers and instructional assistants. If you or someone you know might be interested, please let me know! This flyer provides more information about becoming a substitute in District 57. Being a substitute is a great way to serve our community, be involved in the school, and make some extra money as well. Please reach out to me if you have any questions about the possibility of becoming a substitute.
The PTO Science Fair is one of my favorite Fairview traditions each year. Our wonderful PTO has thought of a way to keep this tradition alive this year by offering a remote version of the event. Please take a moment to read the information included below in the newsletter about how to participate and consider signing up. We cannot wait to see what our students discover and hear what they have to say about their experiments!
Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing our students again on Monday!
Sincerely,
Dan Ophus
Fairview Principal

FAIRVIEW SCIENCE FAIR
The Fairview Science Fair is a voluntary activity sponsored by the Fairview PTO. While we cannot gather in person we hope students enjoy the experience in a different way. DONATE TO DISTRICT 57 FAMILIES IN NEED
COVID-19 has presented many unique hardships and challenges for some of our family members, friends and neighbors. Some parents have asked if it’s possible to make a financial donation to help support District 57 families who are currently in need. The District has set up a system to facilitate this for anyone who is interested. We will distribute the collected funds to families, based on formal requests that are made. If you would like to donate, simply go to this link and follow these steps:
- Click on “Make a one-time payment.”
- Fill in your student’s name, school and grade.
- Click “COVID-19 Donation to District 57 Families.”
- Fill in your information and donation amount, then proceed to the payment section.
Thank you so much, in advance, for your kindness and generosity.
Those who are in need of support can fill out this online form. Names will only be seen by select district personnel who are distributing the funds.
Thank you,
Adam Parisi, Ed.S.
