Monk Fryston Weekly News 1.7.22

School target for next week is;

remember to be sensible at break times.

Golden Book Assembly - message for parents/carers.

We are delighted to see so many parents and carers joining us for Friday's Golden Book assembly. It makes such a lovely difference having you back. Please can we politely remind you not to share/make public any photos or video recordings you may take of your children. There are many children in school for whom we do not have photo/video consent. Please can you help us respect the wishes of those parents when you are in school. Many thanks for your understanding and support.

Children arriving early unsupervised.

We have noticed that some children are arriving very early to school, either walking or being dropped off by parents. Whilst the gates are currently open and the children are welcome, we would like to remind you that they are unsupervised up until the start of the school day. We take safeguarding very seriously and ask that your child behaves in a sensible and respectful manner if they need to be at school early. Many thanks for your support.

Interested in becoming a Teaching Assistant?

Here at WorkwithSchools we know what a trying year it has been for schools in getting the right TA support. We have been inundated with requests for both general teaching assistants and one to one support so in order to increase the number of candidates available for the next academic year, we are going to be running a FREE taster / refresher course for people who would like to update or improve their knowledge as well as prospective teaching assistants, designed to help them get a foot in the door. The session will set out the different roles in primary and secondary school settings, as well as the types of work available from general TA work to 1 to 1 SEN support. Participants will also be given the opportunity of a short placement in a local school – a fantastic way of building practical experience. If you know of any parent volunteers or others who may be interested in this, please would you spread the word and if numbers are high enough, we may run a second session at a later date. Any interested parties should contact us by emailing or call 01904 554195 to learn more or enrol.

Vacancies in School.

Have you ever considered working in school? Or do you know someone who might be interested. We currently have vacancies in both schools. Working days and hours can be flexible. We are also exploring the possibility of training as an apprenticeship for teaching assistants. If you would like to discuss this further please speak to Mr Weights.
