Learning Journey - Green Project & Visit to Southern Islands
Some of our Upper Primary students at CWW @ Bukit Merah were part of a Green Project earlier this year and participated in weekly sessions to explore the environment around them. They learnt about the effects of plastic on the environment and how important it was for humans to not only coexist with nature but to also look after the Earth.
The sessions culminated in a Learning Journey field trip to St. John’s Island and Kusu Island - both homes to a rich diversity of flora and fauna. They visited the National Marine Laboratory and learned about the brief history of the island.
While on the boat to Kusu Island, the children spotted some otters. Unfortunately, they spotted an otter chewing on a piece of plastic! This reinforced the lesson they learned on how plastic impacts the marine environment. The children enjoyed their trip to Kusu Island visiting the shrines and temples and the tortoise sanctuary. The day ended with an idyllic picnic by the sea.
We would like express our special thanks to Dr Nikita from Asian School of the Environment (ASE) for organizing this amazing learning experience which spanned over a period of 5 weeks.

Reach for the Stars - Amazing progress of our Art students
At Children's Wishing Well, we believe that every child has a talent, and we provide the opportunity for them to explore multiple pathways to success.
Donors can sponsor talented children regardless of their academic grades, and pay in full for their course fees for professional training under our Reach for the Stars Programme.
After 2 months of hard work and perseverance, our girls are showing gradual but steady progress in their sketching class! The grandmother of one of the girls has even been showing off the artwork of recent, and of course beaming with pride!
All these would not have been possible without the generous support of Mr. Chew. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to express our most heartfelt gratitude once again to Mr. Chew for sponsoring the two girls.
Look at how far they have come!

Life Skills - Music + Boxing Workshop
Have you heard of a Music + Boxing workshop before? Neither have we, till Mr Hamilton Lau, CEO of The Learning Lab pitched this unique workshop idea to us! From conceptualisation to implementation, we were in awe of his attention to detail and creative ways in engaging our children, most of whom did not have prior music nor boxing background.
The Learning Lab has been incredibly supportive of CWW through their sponsorship of some of our Primary 6 students to receive enrichment lessons at TLL during this important academic year. Having worked with us late last year to make this scholarship a reality, Hamilton has since become one of CWW's strong supporters. In his personal capacity, he has curated this educational Life Skills workshop, building up our students' life skill competencies, including self-defence and creativity.
Thank you so much, Hamilton! Our children had a memorable time during the workshop, and we are sure that the next time they have pizza, they will be counting the pizza slices in the form of music beats!

Daily Hot Meals for disadvantaged children
Our Hot Meals Programme provides nutritious and freshly prepared food on weekdays and bento sets on weekends for children, as well as any walk-in child who is hungry and has no food to eat at home.
During this fasting month, we are providing Hot Dinners for our children to bring home to break fast with their families. Your donation will go towards purchasing fresh ingredients to prepare the meals. Your generous contribution especially during this Ramadan period will go a long way in combatting food insecurity and ensuring that no child goes hungry.
