Summer Update
July 2019
Exciting Times
In an effort to catch up with one another, I would love to have you send me a picture and brief caption of yourself from this summer to share out with staff when we get together in August. It could be a selfie enjoying a good book or a postcard-worthy photograph from an epic vacation.
I will send out more detailed information early next week about our time together on August 1st and 2nd.
Ashley Molina- 2nd Grade
Hi everyone! I am starting my fifth year of teaching coming from MSDWT. I have also taught in IPS. My favorite subject to teach is math, especially working to make it inquiry based. When I'm not teaching I like to record/write music, travel, and be with the people that I love. I am so excited to be at Eagle and can't wait to meet all of you!

Welcome Kim Fitzpatrick!
Kim will be joining us as a paraprofessional in our Intense Intervention Classroom.
Congratulations Mrs. Baker!
As you are setting up your classrooms, please remember:
- Classroom Design: Link to the PP used during our opening PD last August when discussing classroom design.
- Showcase Learning and Documentation Panels: Link to the PP used during our opening PD last August when discussing how we make learning visible.
- deep cleaning is taking place this week. You are welcome to organize shelves, cabinets, work on bulletin boards/class themes, etc... but keep in mind that furniture will be moved and surfaces will be cleaned. Please be sure to keep counters and window sills cleared for cleaning.
- minimize clutter and freshen up well-used spaces and resources
- due to new safety guidelines, windows on classroom doors must remain uncovered unless we are in a lockdown/emergency situation. You will need to be prepared to rapidly cover the window should an emergency necessitate, but otherwise, visibility to the room must be accommodated. More details and explanations to come later.
- classroom libraries are a critical component of our literacy structures and beliefs - please organize for student use and engagement. Consider genre, series, categories as you organize. New books have been placed in the workroom for you to fold into your collection, as we always want to freshen up and give priority to classroom collections. We also have some extra Scholastic dollars available. Beth will be working on obtaining some new books to pass around.
- make sure you add (or update) a photo to our cabinets in the staff lunchroom if you haven't already done so. I need to get mine up there!
