What's Happening In the Library?- From the Desk of Ms. Dodds
Black History Month is February!
This month signifies the celebration of culture and diversity through the lens of African Americans and the Black community. We have been working to get books displayed and available to those students interested about African American culture. (Shout out to Mo Gingerich 4th grade teacher and Library Secretaries for securing these books in prominent places for students to find!)

The Book Fair is Comin!
The West Elementary Library will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair this Spring during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Pop into the library for some new exciting titles your kids will want to take home!
Battle of the Books
Mid-Prairie is trying something new this year: Battle of the Books! This competition takes place every year for Middle and High School students. It encourages free reading and promotes healthy competition to read and answer questions about award-winning books in team format. This year two teams at the Middle and High Schools will preparing and competing in the months of February and March for a chance at the state level. Good luck teams!
MP Reads!
Mid-Prairie East and West are putting together an evening for families to come together and read as a unit. This year, we are selecting a book that promises to bring love and poetry together! Watch for more information as it becomes available. Looking forward to celebrating the power of reading this spring! Happy Reading!
