What is Jobs Y'all?

Jobs Y'all provides resources to help students, parents, teachers, counselors, and their mentors explore top industries and develop career goals. The Jobs Y'all campaign, initiated by The Texas Workforce Commission, was developed in response to employer and industry feedback that the fastest growing industries and occupations are not on the radar of Young Texans, who would benefit from understanding career opportunities and the education and training pathways needed to enter the workforce with the right skills.

Please be sure to take advantage of the following free resources:

  • Texas Career Check- is a great place to start career exploration. Take a quiz to identify occupations relevant to your interests. Conduct a side-by-side occupation comparison. Learn which occupations will be in demand in years to come. Then, research and compare education options to find the training program, college, or university that's right for you. Finally, create a personal graduation plan to share with your counselor.
  • Texas Reality Check- will show you how much your living expenses will cost and if you will be able to afford the lifestyle you want. The lifestyle and occupation calculators can help you understand if the occupations you're interested in will pay enough to cover your monthly expenses and how your cost of living may vary by location.
  • Texas Internship Challenge- will help you search and apply for internships with Texas employers. Internships are a great way to explore careers in a real-world setting, gain marketable skills, and network with professionals. This site can help you create your first resume and search and apply for opportunities by occupation and/or location.
