A Huge Thanks to All of You!
The Final Countdown!
PTO:
PTO would like to thank everyone for their participation in our virtual Walk-a-Thon this spring. Students raised $5833 which will be used to support and supplement classroom needs and special programs for students. Congratulations to the following class for their high participation:
- Miss Whitaker's 5th Grade - Highest Participation from Class (83%)
- Mrs. Evan's 5th Grade - Most Activity Minutes Grade 3-6 --- 6871 minutes!
- Mrs. Ballentine's 2nd Grade - Most Activity Minutes Grades PK-2 --- 7482 minutes!
Medications:
If your student has medication in the clinic, please plan to stop by the school by Friday at 11:30 to pick it up. Medication cannot be sent with students. If you are unable to pick up medication this week, the office will be open next week, Tuesday-Thursday 8-3 and Friday 8-12.
Registration:
Watch your email beginning in July. Registration will open mid-July. It will be important to get registered once you are notified, so we can plan accordingly for staffing in August.

WAM (We All Matter): WAM is a summer recreation program to be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4PM. WAM begins June 1st and is open to any Western Boone Student in grades 3-12. WAM meets at 112 N. Main in Advance and is directed by everyone's favorite PE teacher, Mr. Mikesell! Book It! Check out the Summer Book It program through Pizza Hut. More info can be found here. What goes better with reading under a shade three than hot, fresh pizza?
WEBO Summer Sports Camps: There is fun for everyone this summer! Youth camps are a great way to keep your kids active and let them try their hand at a variety of sports and activities. Click here to access the Athletic Department summer youth camp dates and registration information.
Physicals and Immunizations: Be sure to schedule your appointments early for sports physicals and immunizations. Appointments fill up quickly for the summer and students must have a current physical on file to participate in athletics in the fall. Kindergarten students will need their immunization records on file in order to attend school. Don't delay, August will be here before you know it!
More Exciting News for Kindergarten! College Promise 529
Did you know that students who attend kindergarten at a Western Boone school is awarded $100 into a College 529 savings account at the end of their kindergarten year? When they finish 3rd grade, they receive and additional $50 into their account. This is unique to Western Boone schools! We are excited to help families in their efforts to start saving for post-secondary education! Parents of kindergarten students should check their email for instructions for setting up an account, so this special gift can be deposited as we wrap up our school year! If you did not receive an email, please contact the school office for more information.
