Knightly Update February 20, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 29
I hope your extended weekend is going well. As a reminder, school will not be in session tomorrow in honor of Presidents' Day. Enjoy the extra day of rest and relaxation.
This week begins the start of our spring athletic season. We have quite a few students participating on our spring teams. I hope you will consider coming out to the various competitions to cheer on our Knights. Good luck to all of our athletes this season.
Club pictures will be taken on Wednesday. We have hundreds of students involved in various school clubs, so pictures will be taken throughout the day. The picture schedule is included in today's update. Students must be wearing ACP Polo's in order to be in the picture and it is their responsibility to report to the gym at the time of their club's photo. If you have any questions, please contact the club sponsor or the administrative office.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a nice week. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you.
Rob Bickes
Principal

Nate Huffman and Christina Chavez were each able to battle their way back to a 4th place finish in their weight class. In addition, Cayden Gibson was able to wrestle his way to a 5th place finish. Chandler Police Department Spring Intersession Youth Programs
Officer Bazzell and the Chandler Police Department would like to encourage parents to sign their kids up for the Police Youth Academy this spring break. The Academy is a one-week program for youth between the ages of 12-17. It provides an opportunity for the youth to learn about various jobs and functions within the Chandler Police Department. Officers from the Traffic Unit, Patrol Division, Bike Team, K-9, Community Resources and Training Section instruct students. Students get involved with hands-on activities which provides them with a valuable learning experience and insight into police procedures, such as use of force, forensics, crime scene investigation and much more. The Youth Academy was developed to provide awareness and understanding of the role of law enforcement. The ultimate goal of the Youth Academy is to foster relationships that will bridge the gaps between law enforcement and youth while exposing them to a possible future career in law enforcement.
There is no charge for the Academy and lunch is provided. Space is limited and parents must register their child.
The Academy runs Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check the website for location details.
Date: March 14 to March 17, 2022
Registration opens on 2/17/22!
For more details go to http://chandlerpd.com/youth-academy/.
Thank you,
Joshua Bazzell, Arizona College Prep SRO.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
