READING

We will begin a new unit in Reading - "Studying Characters and Their Stories." We will learn how to not only make predictions about characters, but also have questions in their mind before, during, and after reading. We will also get to know the characters' traits, feelings, and motivations.

There will be a High Frequency Word Check this week! Please study *all* words on the 3rd grading period. Students will be expected to say these words without sounding them out, and without hesitation. (These words have irregular patterns that cannot be figured out by sounding them out.)

WRITING

This week, we will be taking a little break from our Fairy Tales to concentrate on our Living Museum Speeches. We will work on them a bit in Social Studies, but each day during writing we will search out the important information about our famous person and work on writing it down and memorizing it!
