The Monday Minute
Week of March 7th @ LVMS
We hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Don't forget to check Dr. Turnamian's 3/4/22 Community Update with important district information. As we move into March 7th, we remind our entire LVMS Family that the option to wear a mask or not is a personal choice. As always, we are confident that everyone will continue to respect personal decisions that others will make. We are happy that we continue to see pandemic conditions improving each week, allowing us to welcome back and host more activities for the LVMS Community!

Health and Safety
As per Dr. Turnamian's 3/4/22 Community Update, all Washington Township schools remain on track to move to "mask optional" in all buildings and buses on Monday, March 7th. The district is also moving to follow the CDC's 2/22/22 Recommendations, effective immediately. Please be aware, if community transmission rates begin to rise, the district will consider restoring former mitigation protocols after close consultation with our district medical professionals and local Health Department.
COVID Activity Index Level (CALI): As of 2/26/2022 the district received notification that our region’s CALI score remains Moderate (YELLOW).
Contact Tracing: As of 2/28/22 CDC Guidance, the district will not require contact tracing when transmission rates remain low to moderate. The district will monitor current transmission rates. with the guidance of our district medical professionals and local Health Department, and not conduct contact tracing unless circumstances change.
Testing Positive for COVID-19: If a student tests positive for COVID-19 he/she still needs to isolate for 5 days and it is recommended he/she wear a mask for days 6-10. Most importantly, if a student is sick (COVID related or not) please keep him/her home from school.
Close Contact / Quarantine: If an individual is identified as a close contact due to out of school activity or family contact and has not had a primary series of vaccination, it is recommended he/she quarantine for 5 days and wear a mask for days 6-10.
Daily District COVID-19 Communications: Effective 2/8/22 the district will no longer send out daily communications of newly reported COVID-19 cases from each school. This information will continued to be tracked and updated daily to the Information Hub on the main page of our district website.
Please consult Washington Township's NJDOH COVID-19 Resources as needed.
Any health questions or concerns should be directed to our school nurses, kpinto@wtschools.org and ahade@wtschools.org.
