The boxes have been picked up and ISAT has left the building! Thank you for patience, attention to detail, flexibility with make-ups, encouraging your students, and support of one another!

Tuesday's Dance Show

Please keep in mind the following as PE prepares for the Really Big Show on Thursday, March 20:

  • The sliding doors between the gym and the MPR will be open all week (Movement breaks that utilize the MPR are still okay with the exception of 3/20; an alternate location will be needed that day.)
  • Please be punctual in arriving and leaving PE.
  • Please pick up students on time from lunch.
  • Parents have been advised of the show through the Memo and the web calendar. There is a link to the PE page with the class schedule, too.

Running Club

The Lowell Running Club is being advertised in the Memo; be sure to check it out! We have over 30 students signed up using our Google Form sign up through the Memo. Hard copies were sent to families that request hard copies. If you'd like to remind parents to sign up if interested, you can cut and paste the link below into your own e-mail or newsletter to take them to the form:

Authors Week is April 14-17

  • After school on Wednesday, April 9, please bring student stories to the library to be on display. Colored dots will be coming so you can mark your student stories for easy table organization.
  • We will kick off the week with a Skype visit with Dan Gutman for grades 3-5 on April 10 @ 2:30. Amanda will be reviewing a video and composing questions during 3-5 library time so students are prepared to Skpe.
  • Aaron Reynolds will visit all grades on April 17. There is a sign up to see presentations on refrigerator in staff center.

Make a Nomination for Distinguished Teacher Award

Do you know an outstanding teacher who deserves recognition? The NEW 200 Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2014 Distinguished Teacher Awards for excellence in teaching at District 200 schools. Awards are given to one teacher per school year for each level (preschool/elementary, middle and high school). Nominations may be made by any CUSD 200 student, parent, alum, staff, or community member.

Check out the Lowell Staff Google Site, The Eagle's Nest, by clicking here. Aides will be trained on this at our March meeting. I will cross-check the permissions list this weekend. If you did not attend Lunch & Learn, you may still need to be given access.

New Tech Concerns

If you have concerns that have come forth during the 14-15 school year, please share it via the form linked here. As you'll see, Kathy has a meeting with Tech at the SSC on Tuesday to talk about phones, browsers and a few previous issues.

When you are scheduling an even at Lowell, please send an e-mail to Cathy Cebry and Kathy Melton. Cathy will update the building Outlook calendar and the hard copy calendar on her desk. Kathy will update the PTA, the website calendar, and the Friday Flight. The large calendar on the bulletin board by the nurse will no longer be used. See below for a partial list of upcoming events.
