About Ida B. Wells
Ida B. Wells was part of the women's suffrage movement, she was a civil rights activist, but she was mostly known as a anti-lynching crusader. Her friend who was a preacher, and a teacher was prosecuted for rape and was lynched in front of town. She stared writing articles and then was threatened to move out of Memphis. But she still kept writing articals.

Ida B. Wells was a great writer, but one of her speeches was unforgettable," This Awful Slaughter". It was given on May 8, 1909, at the NAACP's first annual conference held in Atlanta, Georgia.
