Back to School Night - 6pm September 14

Trojan families are invited to join us on September 14 for our official Back to School Night. This will be an opportunity to review course syllabus, class expectations, and ask questions directly with your student’s teacher. We look forward to seeing you then!

School Site Council Nominations

Dear Parents,


Quincy Jr. /Sr. High School Site Council (SSC) is now accepting nominations for

one parent/community member positions.


The School Site Council serves the students and the school by:

  • developing the Single School Plan for Student Achievement with teachers and support staff;

  • implementing the Plan, putting it into effect for student learning;

  • evaluating the Plan to see if it is helping all students; and

  • verify and assure money expenditures in the school plan are used to improve academic performance of all pupils.


Parent members of the SSC are expected to:

  • attend the meetings once a month from 3:30–4:30

  • actively participate in SSC responsibilities

  • represent staff and the community


Please contact the school office if you are interested in nominating someone or yourself for School Site Council.

All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness.

COVID Guidance for this school year

  • If you are feeling sick, stay home
  • If you test POSITIVE for COVID, please notify Janet Radtke in our Attendance Office and stay home for 5 days. 283-6510 ext 5102
  • Students may return to school on or after DAY 6 if they have NEGATIVE test result, no fever, and improved symptoms.

When your QJSHS student is out for 3-14 days

Hello Trojans Families,
The first two weeks of school brought its fair share of positive covid cases to our campus and in an effort to prepare for the school year we are asking our parents/guardians to submit, via ParentSquare, an electronic form titled, "Independent Study Master Agreement, 3-14 Days". This form is used when a student is absent from school 3-14 days because they have been "excluded," are having a family emergency, or have made arrangements with the office in advance to be absent. When electronically "approved" and submitted by you, this will allow your student to count work completed as attendance in school. We are asking all our parents to fill out this now for the school year, in the event your student becomes "excluded" from school.

First Jr. High Dance of the School Year

All 7th and 8th grade students are invited to our first Jr. High Dance of the school year, 7-9pm on September 9 in the cafeteria. The theme for the dance is Masquerade and the attire is semi-formal. To ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe time at the dance, we have the following measures in place:

  • All students must be in “good standing” in the weeks leading up to the dance.

    • Responsible and respectful member of the Trojan community

    • Meeting student behavior expectations, including no major disciplinary incidents

    • Attending all classes, on time when healthy and able to do so

  • QJSHS students only

  • No “ins and outs”. Students must remain in the cafeteria, or in the supervised area in the Trojan Terrace (if available), for the duration of the dance.

  • Students are expected to remain at the dance until 9pm. Leaving prior to 9pm requires parent/guardian permission provided to the school principal, Mrs. Scheel.

  • Backpacks and large bags are not allowed inside the dance.

  • No outside drink or food allowed

  • All school rules apply


Pre-sale tickets are $4 and go on sale in the Trojan Terrace on September 1. Tickets are $5 at the door. We are looking forward to a wonderful evening and hope to see everyone there!

Daily Student Support

Our Tutorial class runs Tuesday - Friday, with a Homeroom on Mondays. We are using a program called Edficiency to manage and assign Tutorials. One really great feature about this program is students can sign up to attend a specific teacher's tutorial. All the student has to do is log into their Edficiency account the day before and select the teacher of the class they would like to attend. This is a great, built in to the school day, opportunity to get extra help or time on assignments.

Quincy Star Follies

The Quincy Star Follies is the premier fundraising event of the Feather River College Foundation, which supports College students through programs, events and activities. We have a cast of 60 adults and 60 elementary, middle/high school and college students. If you want your child in the show, please take a moment to read the important information below, complete this enrollment form and return it to Lisa Kelly at Plumas Charter School or to Kris Miravalle (address below) with a check for $20 (NO LATER THAN September 3rd. STUDENT REHEARSALS: Start Saturday, September 3rd at Quincy Elementary Cafeteria

Elementary School (4th – 6th): 9:00 a.m. Saturday Mornings

Junior High School (7th & 8th): 10:00 a.m. Saturday Mornings

High School (9th – 12th): 11:00 a.m. Saturday Mornings


MANDATORY REHEARSALS:


FIRST All Cast: Sunday, September 11th, at 4:30 p.m. at the Plumas Sierra Fairgrounds in Serpilio Hall.


PRE-SHOW All-Cast Rehearsal: Wednesday, October 26th at 5:30 p.m. where we re-run all cast numbers and show Don each number in show order (kid numbers first as it is a school night!)


Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, October 27th, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. We will be in full costume and make up and run the show TWICE so this is a long night.


SHOW DATES & TIMES: There will be 4 performances (2 each night): Friday & Saturday, October 28th and 29th at 6:00 and 8:00 CURTAIN CALL IS 5:00 p.m.
