I hope you and your family are having a relaxing, family filled, holiday break. Please remember we resume school on Tuesday, January 4th. We can not wait to see our students and get started on our second semester of school.

When we return from break we will have a few changes in our staff. As you already know, Mrs. Bickley and Mrs. Kleinholter will be leaving us to be in other positions within the district. Mrs. Kleinholter will be a District Digital Learning Coach and Mrs. Bickley is going to Pleasant Grove as the interim principal. We wish them the best, and they will always have home at Mt. Washington Elementary School.

We will have a familiar face in a different role. Mrs. Adams our instructional coach will now be the interim assistant principal. Mrs. Adams has been at Mt. Washington first as a teacher, then as a coach and now as our AP! We are very excited to have her in this new role.

There will also be a new, but familiar face joining our staff. Mrs. Nicole Atkinson will be our new 4th grade teacher. Prior to coming to MWES, she was a teacher in several other states and most currently serving as our PTA Co-President and SBDM parent Council member. Please help in welcoming Mrs. Atkinson as our newest staff member in the building.

And lastly another new face that will be in our building on Thursday and Fridays is Mrs. Byerly. Mrs. Byerly is currently an instructional coach at Old Mill Elementary. She will be shared with us and Old Mill. With Mrs. Adams moving to Assistant Principal, this leaves the instructional coach position empty. Mrs. Byerly will help us fill this role as she will work at both schools.

As you see there are a lot of changes happening. These changes will be an opportunity for growth and we can do this together! I can not wait to start the second half of the 2021-2022 school year!
