JCMS EXCEEDS State Growth Expectations

Congratulations to the students and staff at JCMS. For the second year in a row, we exceeded the state's growth expectations for our campus. Keep up the great work JCMS!!! We are very proud of the continued academic progress that continues to be made.

Cookie Dough

We are making JCMS a little less institutional and a little more welcoming with additional learning spaces outside the classrooms. See the picture below of the new furniture near the library. Please help us sell Cookie Dough this year to develop outdoor learning spaces with benches and furniture. We have one week left to sell. Cookie Dough money is due Monday, October 2nd.

Please Return Impact Aid Cards on Tuesday, September 26th

Impact Aid Cards go home with students on Monday, September 25th. The Impact Aid program is designed to compensate local school districts for local revenue lost due to the presence of Federally owned tax-exempt property. All parents need to complete the student information side and sign it. Section A is for Active Duty. Section B is for civilians that work on base, and Section C is for families that are not federally connected. Please make sure to use a pen when completing this card.

Sign Language Club

Jacksonville Commons Middle is the program school for many of our deaf and hard-of-hearing students, so the students see our interpreters, students, and teachers using American Sign Language in their classrooms every day. We were very excited to have 18 students in attendance at our first meeting Thursday, Sept 14. We worked on learning the ABC's, numbers 1-10, and some common phrases. Students played a game that stretched their imaginations and completed a Fingerspelling word search to help them practice their new skills. We will meet in Room 201, Thursdays from 3:00-4:00. Students must have a ride home by 4:00.
