LEEdership Quality of the Week:
Patriotism- Love for or devotion to one's country
Lesson in Leadership:
Stand up for what you believe in. You shouldn't take no for an answer if your heart and mind are leading you in a direction that you feel strongly about.

“I only regret that I have one life to lose for my country.” -Nathan Hale
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
READING & WRITING
We will continue our work on writing about reading. This week we started our book club unit. Y5 leaners selected a class name for our book club, Intelligent Readers. Our vocabulary word this week was imagery. We looked at examples of imagery in both our reading and writing.
MATH
This week we started unit two, Decimal Place Value. Learners were given a numbers workflow to complete over a two week period. We also started collecting data as a class for future graphing and data representation activities.
SCIENCE
This week learners worked on setting up their bulb accounts. They will start adding their favorite activities to their portfolio. Next week we will begin our unit on force and motion.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Learners worked on the regions of the 13 colonies. We concluded the week with a 9/11 remembrance activity. Here learner wrote thank you letters to first responders.
