Welcome to Kindergarten!
Parents/Guardians of children entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2021 are invited to participate in this virtual informational meeting.
During the meeting you will:
•learn about early education in Watertown;
•find out when/how to register your child;
•ask questions about early education and registration.

Signing Up for This Event
Use the pre-registration form to sign up for this event. Your completed form will help us to prepare for this informational session. If you cannot attend, you should still complete the form so that we can approximate the number of families showing interest in enrolling a Kindergarten student for the 21-22 school year. The links to the zoom sessions at each school can be found here:
Kindergarten Requirements
Your child must turn 5 years of age by August 31, 2021, and live in Watertown. All student registrations received will be assigned to their neighborhood school unless classroom capacity exceeds the limit. If kindergarten numbers exceed the classroom capacity, your child will be placed according to space availability at other elementary schools and you will be notified.
The Registration Process
Registration will take place online. There will be two links. One for NEW incoming Kindergarten Students and one for RETURNING students (Early Steps Students, Prekindergarten Students, or those tested by the WPS will be sent a Snapcode to register as a Returning Student). Parents will need to upload copies of their child’s birth certificate, physical exam form, proof of residency (see below), and parent ID to the online registration.
Documents You Will Need to Register Your Child to Attend the WPS
Two Proofs of Residence in Watertown (one from List A and one from List B)
List A
real estate tax bill/mortgage bill
lease
notarized affidavit form (if you are not on the deed/lease, a notarized affidavit must be accompanied by a copy of the owner’s deed/mort. bill or real estate tax bill.)
List B
utility bill
confirmation of service notice/service agreement/new customer letter (for those who recently moved and have not yet received a bill)
(Note: bank statements, telephone bills, excise tax or income tax documents are NOT acceptable)
Other Needed Documents
An original birth certificate /passport
Health & Immunization form (plus recent physical examination)
Parent ID
