Lake Ripley Elementary
October
Welcome to Lake Ripley School
Principal's Message
As we have opened our school doors to welcome you back to another great year, our teachers have established routines, and students have settled into normal day to day operations, I can say it has been an outstanding start. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your children can achieve their highest potential. Together we will create a year of excellence for our children. As partners, we share the responsibility for your children’s success and we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning and know that we always have their best interests in mind.
Summer and early fall has brought about many changes here at Lake Ripley Elementary. Construction is well on its way with a new parking lot and updated playgrounds. The start of the secure entrance and new cafeteria/kitchen is right around the corner. The transformation is amazing. Summer has also been a time for a lot of planning and preparation for any of the instructional models that may be needed. The school has many protocols in place and ready to keep children and staff members safe. Regardless of the delivery of instruction, in-person or virtually, staff members have diligently planned lessons, activities, and assessments to offer a tremendous educational experience to your children. The COVID-19 pandemic has altered education, however, we will work to meet all social, emotional, and educational needs of all children.
Lake Ripley Elementary and Litchfield Public Schools will continue to adhere to the mandates and recommendations set forth by the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Department of Education, and governor’s orders. Student safety and producing the best educational experience possible are top priorities at our school.
October is anti-bullying month. Please encourage your children to be upstanders if they witness bullying, to be accepting of everyone, and to be kind to everyone. On Wednesday, October 21, we will take part in UNITY day. Unity day is a way to demonstrate that we are all together in the fight against bullying. Please have your child(ren) wear orange on October 21.
Through hard work, effective and creative teaching, and a strong school community partnership, we will reach our goal to provide a quality educational program for our Dragon students at Lake Ripley Elementary.
Fire Prevention Week
Helping your child manage concerns and worry with COVID 19
Doing the Right Thing
History will remember the pandemic, the quarantine, the politics, and the struggle.
Your children will remember the family time, the laughter, or the stress and the arguments.
Be mindful of the memories created.
