Youth of all ages, discover the indoor craft table at both libraries for a fun Thanksgiving themed craft! Each library is different, so be sure to visit both places.

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Party

Age Level: Ages 3 and up

Join us for a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving! We will watch a Charlie Brown special movie, and then have our own inspired feast complete with toast, popcorn, jellybeans, and pretzels! Some healthier options and a craft will be provided as well.

Science with Ms. Jen – Lego Cars

Tuesday, November 22, 5 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Age Level: Ages 5 and up

Learn about friction and aerodynamics with Ms. Jen. Use your creativity and knowledge of aerodynamics to design the fastest car out of Lego. We will be racing the cars on different surfaces to show how friction can slow down the speed of the cars.

Join Miss Kat in making your own Baby Yoda ornament! By sewing felt with simple stitching, you can make a super cute addition to your tree!

History and Origin of American Military Medals

Tuesday, November 1, 6 p.m., Harmony Library

Retired science teacher, Steve Hackett, will give a presentation on the history of American military medals and the process by which they are awarded. There will be an accompanying display of American and international medals, uniforms, photos, and other artifacts. Steve has been collecting medals for 40 years. Come with your questions!

If you have recently cleaned out an attic or basement and uncovered any mysterious medals or insignia, feel free to bring them for help in identification. If you are unable to attend in person, you may email a photo of your item to and your message will be passed along to Steve.

Cookbook Club

Monday, November 7, 6 p.m., Harmony Library

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, the Cookbook Club will have recipes at the ready to make for a delicious and stress-free season! Our cookbook for this meeting will be The Side Dish Bible: 1001 Perfect Recipes or Every Vegetable, Rice, Grain, and Bean Dish You'll Ever Need by America's Test Kitchen.

This is how the club works: every month, pick up a copy of that month's cookbook selection at the Harmony Library. Choose a recipe to make and prepare it for the next month's meeting. We will sample each other's dishes and discuss our cooking experiences. If you would like to join the Cookbook Club, register at and then drop by the library to pick up a copy of the book.

Fearless Art

Wednesday, November 9 and November 16, 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

The Fearless Art Club invites adults of all ages and artistic abilities to experiment with materials and techniques to create art. In November, we will explore printmaking by carving soft linoleum blocks. We create a supportive atmosphere for people to come together, explore art, find their own artistic style, and be inspired and influenced by others.

Medicare Options Workshop

United Health Medicare Solutions licensed sales representative, Nancy Mendizabal, will present current Medicare options, including the Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription plans that are available.

Book Page Flowers

Monday, November 14, 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

Paper flowers can add a creative touch to any table, especially when they are covered with words! Learn how to make two different flowers that will create a unique bouquet. All materials will be provided.

Writers’ Group

Evening Book Discussion and Dinner

Join us for a delicious dinner followed by a lively discussion of the highly acclaimed We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz. Copies of the book are available at the Harmony Library.

Holiday Napkin Stenciling

Tuesday, November 29, 6 p.m. and Wednesday, November 30, 10:30 a.m., Harmony Library

Participants will learn how to stencil holiday patterns on cotton napkins. All materials will be provided. Please register for one class only. Note: Online registration will open on Tuesday, November 8, 6 p.m.

Holiday Wreath Workshop

Friday, December 2, 6 p.m., Glocester Manton Library

This annual program is best described as a good old-fashioned wreath making gathering! Learn how to hand-tie a holiday wreath with the greens that you collect in your own backyard. Please bring clippers and garden gloves. Wreath rings, decorations, and ribbon will be provided or you can bring special decorations and ribbon. There is no cost to this workshop.

Glocester Senior Center Book Discussion

Join us for a discussion of The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth. Copies of the book are available at the Harmony Library. Note: Registration is not necessary, but if you have never attended the group before, contact Brenda at the Harmony Library (949-2850) so you can be notified of any COVID-related changes to our schedule. New members are welcome.

The November book discussion will focus on The Long Flight Home by Alan Hlad. Copies are available for borrowing at the Glocester Manton Library. Note: Registration is not required.
