Here are a couple helpful reminders to stay proactive within your child’s educational success.
- Actively check grades within PowerSchool.
- Grades are updated within PowerSchool regularly; however, it is important to actively check your child’s Google Classroom.
- Daily tasks/assignments are posted in Google Classroom.
- If your child says that he/she does not have homework, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to have them open their Google Classrooms to show you!
- If you ever have questions/concerns about your child, do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers.
- Each teacher’s contact information can be found on our district’s website.

Classroom Happenings
From Mrs. Brown's Class
Seventh grade Science Exploration students learned about and utilized a variety of science and engineering principles to build marble run roller coasters over the last two weeks. They brought their visions to life using items such as paper, paper plates and bowls, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, water bottles, tape, and hot glue. Each roller coaster had to meet certain criteria and 3 different types of marbles (small, large, and steel) had to arrive safely at the ending point of the roller coaster. They did a fantastic job and created some unique projects!

National Honor Society Information
Membership criteria
To be selected to the National Honor Society, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. They are also required to complete an information form showing their interest and desire to be a part of this organization. The information forms are reviewed and selections are based on a variety of factors, which can be reviewed in the bylaws linked to the website (see below).
For students considering NHS as an option in the coming year, we highly recommend keeping track of community service hours over the summer and into the next school year. The current bylaws require a minimum of 10 service hours per year for all members. Other requirements include attending all monthly meetings, carrying goals of scholarship, leadership, character, and service, and actively participating in group projects through the year.
Information forms will be shared with eligible students in January 2023. For more information, please contact the chapter advisor, Mary Eldredge Sandbo at the high school.
