The Manning Weekly Update
April 1, 2022
Manning Community,
- CMAS starts next Tuesday for all students. Please encourage your students to do their best on this assessment. One way to do that is for them to get a good night sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and read the questions carefully. Also, please make sure your student(s) come each day with a fully charged Chromebook and an additional book to read when they complete the assessment.
- We hosted grade level meetings during access this week, and reintroduced our HEART expectations. Also, Robbie's Hope ambassadors (some of them Manning alums) were here to talk about the Robbie's Hope mission and learn about our exciting Robbie's Hope student/community fundraiser at Manning on Saturday, April 23rd (more info below). Students will continue to learn about our HEART expectations in their access classes the week of April 11th. Manning leads with courage, kindness, and HEART!
- Please make sure to read the newsletter in its entirety, as there are many important updates and events to be aware of as we move into a very busy time of year.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Best,
Christian Ramaker
Principal

Traffic Alert Update!
This notification serves as a reminder of next week's planned full overnight closures of both directions of 32nd Avenue under the bridges at I-70 Exit 264. These closures are related to the Colorado Department of Transportation's I-70 over 32nd Avenue Bridge Replacement project in Wheat Ridge. A reminder that all construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.
Monday, April 4 to Thursday, April 7 - 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly
CDOT and contractor Kraemer North America will implement a full closure of both directions of 32nd Avenue under the bridges at I-70 Exit 264 (Clear Creek Pkwy/32nd Avenue) during overnight hours (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) from Monday, April 4 to Thursday, April 7.
The closures are necessary to maintain safety while crews begin removing the easterly portion of the westbound I-70 bridge.
Detour signage will be in place directing motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to 40th Avenue to bypass the overnight closures.
Important CMAS Information
It is that time of the year where we are coming up to CMAS testing for our students. Please remember that CMAS is a state mandated test for ALL Colorado students. We here at Manning use ALL data to guide our teaching. Unless there is a specific need for a student to opt-out, we request that everyone does take the test.
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) requires the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests for grades 3-8 each year. CMAS English Language Arts , Math, Science and Social Studies assessments were developed to measure grade level expectations in the Colorado Academic Standards.
Designed to be administered online, the tests feature a variety of interactive questions that are engaging and aligned with 21st century teaching and learning practices. CMAS testing occurs annually in the Spring.
Grades 6, 7, 8 are tested in ELA & Math and Grade 8 is tested in Science.
The length of regular test are as follows: (this may change due to individual student needs for extra time)
ELA: Test Unit length - 110 minutes
Math: Unit length - 65 minutes.
Science: Unit length - 80 minutes
