Blue Jay Broadcast
News and Notes from the Hallways of MHS
Coffee talk with Mr. Guzman
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.
Our Freshman Open House on Tuesday, August 30th was a success! The students met in the auditorium with the administration where we discussed the upcoming school year.
Three key points that I discussed with the students were:
Pride
Take pride in our school and make us proud; You are part of the Blue Jay family now
Leadership
All of our students are leaders; We are here to help develop all of our students into the leaders we know they can become
Future
It's time to start thinking about the future beyond high school - don't wait until senior year, the future starts now
I would also like to thank Mr. Walsh, Mrs. Powers, Mr. O'Donnell, Mrs. Malt, Ms. Sviderskis, Mrs. Calabrese and Mrs. Giuliano for all of their work this summer preparing for the new school year.
Enjoy the last few days of summer and we'll see the students on Wednesday, September 6th to begin a new and successful school year.

Welcome back!
This is the first edition of the Blue Jay Broadcast and we hope you'll stay connected with us to find out about all of the activities we have going on at the high school.
The first day of school this year is Wednesday, September 6th with an early dismissal on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, September 8th, we'll be back to a full day schedule and lunch will begin being served.
During the first week of school, announcements will be made during homeroom for students who would like to request a parking spot. They will need to see Mrs. Calabrese in Mr. Walsh's Office (Room 220).
Also during morning announcements, information will be provided for those Freshmen interested in running for a student council position. Our many clubs and activities will also be making announcements for new members, these are a great way to get involved at school and meet new people.
If students have any questions or concerns regarding their schedules, they will need to fill out an appointment request during the first few days of school and their counselor will schedule a time to meet with them. Request forms can be found outside of the Counseling Office.
Summer Study 2017

Math is due Sept 29th
These will be graded.
Also new this year....we have LIGHTS!! Our Blue Jays will be playing football under the lights this year. Be sure to come out and support our team!
