Letters of Recommendation
Just a reminder to check your application due dates to request letters in time. Remember, 2 work weeks in advance for teachers and 3 work weeks in advance for Ms. Peters. You do not have to complete your application before requesting; we work while you work. You MUST CONFIRM that a letter of recommendation is required and complete the steps. Here is a quick list of upcoming deadlines. For example, if you have a Nov. 15 application deadline, you should submit a Letter of Rec Request to Ms. Peters by Oct. 25 and your teachers by Nov. 1.Class of 2026
Career Key Post Chat
This week, sophomores worked on the first step of connecting their Career Key Inventory results to career opportunities. We reviewed results from the Career Key Inventory they had completed in the previous Connections class and completed a questionnaire where they researched a career of their choosing and answered some questions. Throughout this semester, sophomores are learning the skills to search beyond their current experience and knowledge about careers. This is a life skill that will help with not only their first job but can help them pivot into other opportunities.
The Career Key Inventory is completed in the sophomore year and highlights six personality types ranked by preference (Holland Code). It matches careers for each theme and is sorted by preparation level. (10th grade)
Parents and guardians can see the results of these inventories via the family Naviance log-in under Self-Discovery. Contact Jodi at tcavisits@asd20.org for her to resend your login to the email listed in Infinite Campus.
Class of 2027
This week I met with all freshmen and spoke to them about the ever-changing world of work. We talked about how freshmen year is all about career exploration. Freshmen completed the Career Cluster Finder Survey--an inventory that will allow them to match their interests, strengths, and personal qualities with potential career areas or clusters. Their top career clusters will be ranked based on their responses. Career Clusters are a grouping of similar careers and a great starting point to think about future careers. If you would like to complete a similar inventory, click here. Students also reviewed their Learning and Productivity Inventory results from the beginning of the school year.
