Lunch Menu Change
As you may be aware, District 97 is in the process of switching our primary food distributing company. Knowing it might be unpredictable with the switchover, we placed our orders for May 2018 back on April 6 to make sure all orders would be delivered. Despite our best efforts, unfortunately, we will not be able to get ahold of the Popcorn Chicken that is scheduled to be served on Thursday 5/31. Instead, we will be serving Pancakes.
Updated Thursday, May 31, 2018 Lunch Menu
· Whole Grain Mini Pancakes (3)
· Spring Salad Mix
· Red Delicious Apple
· Milk
Brooks Cleveland Music Tour Accomplishments
The Brooks Music Department went on their biennial Music Tour to Cleveland/Sandusky, Ohio this past weekend on May 18-20. The tour included stops to visit at the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame Museum, a dinner/dance boat cruise around Lake Erie, adjudicated performances at the Music In The Parks Music Festival, and an afternoon at Cedar Point Amusement Park. Over 180 7th/8th grade band, chorus and orchestra students and 33 adult chaperones, including teachers, school administrators, music parents, and support staff participated on the tour. A huge thank to all of the parents and Brooks support staff who gave up their weekend to make sure our students were well supervised and safe.
End of Year - Student Celebrations
Brooks will be closing the school year with a school wide emphasis on kindness. The Brooks community has set a goal that students and staff will engage in 5,000 acts of Kindness over the next four weeks. We will use of behavioral tracking system, HERO, to track these positive acts in our community.
Brooks achieved our goal! We have well over 10,000 acts of kindness so we will take time to have a special school wide celebration to close our school year on May 30th!

District 97 Returning Student Registration
Returning Student Registration (K-8)
Returning student registration will be held May 7-28 online.
This three-step process will allow parents to access their InfoSnap account using a hyperlink sent to the email address on May 7th of the parent/guardian who originally registered the student. The message would have come from infosnap@is.op97.org and was titled "2018-19 Oak Park Elementary School District 97 Registration for (student's name)". If you did not receive the email/link, it is possible that it ended up in your spam or junk folder. If the email is not in located in your inbox or SPAM/JUNK, please email the registrar (sgreene@op97.org) with your child's name, so that we may check our records.
If you have received the email, please click on the hyperlink within the email to verify/update/upload any necessary information, then hit submit to complete the re-enrollment.
Parents will be able to upload their new residency documents (needed for renters, lives with oak park residents, and those that are in lieu of lease) directly on the InfoSnap enrollment page. They will not be able to upload documents once they have submitted the online form, however the district will offer designated "Upload Days" where we can assist families with the scan/upload process. These dates will be posted to the website sometime in May. Families do not need their new proof of residency in order to submit the online registration; however, it must be turned into the registrar by August 1.
District 97 is reiterating that students will not be placed on class lists or receive academic schedules until the registration process is complete in its entirety (online enrollment plus residency approval).
