The Cheer Group
On the cheer team we see the coach as a figure of authority. We show obedience to him and obey the rules and the tasks he tells us to do. He sets captains on the team to be seen as authority also but sometimes the captains will use their power in a bad way, causing us to rebel against them and refuse to listen to what they ask of us to do. Sometimes people on the team will go along with others knowing that the actions performed is wrong but since everyone else is doing it, others join along. Such as acting out of order at a game when we should be focusing on cheering or at practice when we don't do the tasks that we were asked to do. This conformity caused the whole team to get in trouble with the coach at times. Group polarization happens a lot within the team as well.
