Service Opportunities
March for Our Lives Sat, March 24, 2018 from 8AM-5PM Volunteers are needed to serve as wayfinders, assisting participants in getting to and from the rally safely. You can receive service hours for this activity. Required orientation on Thurs, March 22 at 6PM at Washington Convention Center Participation in the rally is separate from serving as a wayfinder -- this is a Prohibited Activity- if you choose to participate, you cannot receive hours. Washington Area Women’s Foundation They host different events throughout the year, and partner with a number of different organizations. Scroll down their ‘Get Involved’ page to the Volunteer section to see about new opportunities. The United Way The United Way is looking for volunteers in DC, MD and VA. You can register here and get notifications about upcoming events! Martha’s Table Martha’s Table, in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, launched Joyful Food Markets to increase access to and encourage consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables east of the Anacostia River. Ameson Year in China (AYC) is a unique opportunity for recent college graduates to become Educational Ambassadors by spending a year teaching, learning, and making a difference in public schools across China. Participants experience the challenges and distinct rewards of being immersed in one of the world’s fastest-developing economic and cultural landscapes. Each week, twenty hours are spent teaching, ten hours are spent in the office or in support of students’ activities, and the remaining time is encouraged to be spent in collaborative or self-directed pursuits, such as language learning, travel, and community engagement.

7500 RMB (~$1,100) Travel Allowance
Full Legal Status (Chinese Work Visa & Residence Permit)
TEFL training and certification (free 120-hour course)
