Viator Voice: October 16, 2022
The Feast Day of St. Viator is on October 21st
PRAYER TO ST. VIATOR
Remember St. Viator
that you have chosen to be
model and protector of all Viatorians.
With your help, may they establish communities
where Faith is lived and celebrated
in building up God’s Kingdom.
Pour forth abundant blessings
upon those who share as benefactors
to the Viatorian Community.
Bless us, our families and
those whose lives we touch.
We pray this through
Jesus Christ, the Lord. Amen.
Livin’ Large in 8B!
The final year at St. Viator is well underway for the students in 8B, and we are keeping very busy. 8B arrives early and after a brief 5-minute homeroom for attendance, prayer and announcements, we are on our way. 8B is enjoying the chance to mix classes with 8A so we see friends throughout the day as we study and work hard in all our subjects. We work diligently in learning geography, algebra, and the finer points of art. We are enjoying the opportunity of having an elective, as we learn the various components to Athletic Leadership and the nuances of music. In Literature, we are about to embark into the world of Scout Finch, and we are developing a true aptitude for writing well with the Jane Schaffer writing process in English. Although we are working hard, we find time to take a break and enjoy some fun as well. The year is off to a great start, and 8B is definitely living la vida loca, the Great life! We can’t wait to see what is still in store for us!!! ~Mrs. Miller

On Thursday, October 20 at 10:20 AM, St. Viator School will partake in the world's largest earthquake drill. This is a great time of year to plan a family earthquake drill. Check out the flyer highlighting 7 steps to Earthquake Safety!

50th Day of School Celebration on November 3, 2022
The fiftieth day of school will be celebrated on November 3rd! All students can wear their favorite 50's outfit. This is a tradition at St. Viator School that has been going on for over 15 years.
Please help your child dress in fifties styled clothing. Some ideas include: poodle skirts, sweaters, rolled jeans, leather jackets, scarf, slicked back hair (boys), pony tail with scarf (girls).
Note: This is NOT a regular free dress day. Students must wear 50's attire or their casual uniform if not participating.
We look forward to seeing all our students in their 50's best!
ST. VIATOR PARISH SCHOOL BOARD COMMISSION APPLICATION
Mrs. Kiss, in collaboration with Fr. Rinn, are currently recruiting for volunteer positions to serve in an advisory capacity to the Principal and Pastor on the Parish School Advisory Board. Please consider submitting an application. If you are interested, please complete the Board Application and return it to svsschool@stviator.org by Oct 30th for consideration.
Counselor's Corner
Conferences are complete. Teacher feedback is in place. Celebratory ice cream has been purchased. Reset details are listed. Congratulations to you all for making it through conference week!! I know this is no easy task for parents even when our students are being their amazing little selves. But now we have a better idea of what the next steps are and how we can accomplish them, right? However, if you are in a space where you need a little help with the reset, please feel free to call me for support.
You can have your child request a meeting with me on their own. Your teacher can submit a request for your student. Or better yet, I’d be happy to sit with you to discuss any concerns you have about your child. Also, if you need me to just sit and listen (I am a good listener), I’d be happy to do that as well. There are a few options for you and your family to access additional support and information.
This is just a friendly reminder that I’m here and I’m happy to be of service. You can reach me at 702-732-4477 Ext 107 or e-mail at mdiaz@stviatorschool.org
Blessings!
