Claires Court Bulletin

Students are now fully aware of what they need to do this holiday to prepare themselves for their AS and A2 examinations starting in three weeks from their return to school. Whilst effective revision is essential, it is important that they also enjoy some rest and relaxation so they return refreshed.

Happy Easter to one and all.

Mrs Rogers and Mr Giles

Both the Year 12 and Year 13 Drama classes presented their pieces for final GCE moderation on Monday evening at The Arts Centre, Norden Farm. 'Hymns' by Chris O'Connell and 'Up There', their own devised piece, were both very powerful pieces and extremely well acted by all the students. Congratulations to the students, Mrs Olivier and the technical team who must be very pleased that all marks awarded were said by the moderator to be in the top band and so will gain high grades.

Our Year 12 'Re-Plant' team came home with two cups from the Areas Finals of the Young Enterprise SWiM awards on Monday evening. Mr Giles said 'they had by far the best trade stand and they presented well. They also made the second highest profit of the original 22 teams. They really deserved the two cups they won; The innovation Cup and the Runner Up cup for The Best Trade Fair Stand.' Congratulations to MD Tom Daniel and all his team. Tom says 'It was a great experience, and a big thank you to all the team for their hard work'.

Mrs. Burdett's Year 12 maths group

This is a reminder to Mrs. Burdett's Year 12 maths group that on Tuesday March 31st (the day term finishes) there will be a maths session from 1pm till 4pm (in TB1), in order to fill gaps in knowledge/understanding of the C2 syllabus and to kick start revision of C2. (Revision of S1 and C1 should already be well underway). Everyone in the group should attend this extra session please. There is also going to be a C2 revision practice day from 9am till 3pm on Wednesday 15th April. (Please note that this is in the Easter holiday). It will enable students to query and go over any past paper questions they have tried in the holidays and have the opportunity to solve more with guidance.
