AMC 10 Exam Offered at Daniel Wright
Daniel Wright will be offering D103 students the opportunity to participate in the AMC 10 (American Mathematical Competition). This exam is independent of the DW Math Clubs and will not be used in any way to determine team rosters for upcoming competitions.
The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examination in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
The AMC 10 is for students in 10th grade and below, and covers the high school curriculum up to 10th grade. Students in grade 10 or below and under 17.5 years of age on the day of the contest can take the AMC 10. You may now register on the RevTrak Web Store.
The competition is administered around the country on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 and will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Daniel Wright. The AMC 10 provides an opportunity for students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. The AMC 10 is the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad (see Invitational Competitions). More information on the competition along with resources to prepare for the exam can be accessed using this link, AMC 10 Information & Resources.
The competition is only open to D103 students and the cost to register for the exam is $5.00. Because exams have to be pre-ordered, any interested student must register on or before 12:00 p.m. Dec. 1, 2019. If you have any questions regarding the exam, please email Principal Michelle Blackley at mblackley@d103.org.
