MAP TESTING
MAP testing continues at CHS this week. The MAP test is given at Calhoun High School three (3) times per year to all 9th and 10th graders and our ESS and ESOL populations in 11th and 12th grades. The first assessment was given last week for English Language Arts and this week for Mathematics.
The MAP test measures student achievement compared to similar students nationwide. The test adapts to the student's responses to measure skill level. Teachers use the MAP achievement and growth scores to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP APPLICATION- DUE AUG. 26TH
Calhoun/Gordon County Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership is an annual training program for high school students who have demonstrated leadership abilities. The program aims to develop a group of informed, committed, and competent youth motivated to learn more about our community, to assume leadership roles in our schools and community, and to become more involved in our civic, cultural, economic development, and philanthropic organizations and groups. The goal of the program is that every young leader will be able to:
Gain an awareness of the need for community service, civic participation, and philanthropy.
Increase familiarity with areas and businesses in Calhoun/Gordon County beyond their immediate neighborhood and school.
Interact with adult leaders in business, nonprofit and public sectors.
Acquire a network of adult and youth leaders, which can form an excellent basis for their success in life, including both the work and college world.
If a senior is interested in applying for the Youth Leadership Program, instructions for applying and the calendar of events can be found at the link below.
