Friday, February 13

Happy Valentine's Day, Mustangs!

Take time to share with your children how precious they are and cherish each of your family members!! The smallest appreciation brings the best-ever smiles and hugs!!! I have been blessed with many of these this week!!!

Enjoy your 3-day weekend as students do not come to school on Friday, February 14! What a Valentine's Day treat! We will see our smiling Mustangs on Monday, February 17. This is a weather makeup day for the hurricane day taken on September 5 so it is a regular school day.

Next week we will celebrate Acts of Kindness Week. The simplest act of kindness is a celebration of who our Mustangs are and who we are as a school family. Please pay attention to acts of kindness that you see next week and celebrate these with your children.

Please note that we have our Family Night for Grades K, 2, and 4 on Thursday night, February 20, 6:00-7:30 p.m. This is a very special night in which families are engaged in our students' learning and fun. Please join your child for this exciting night! Also, it is Zaxby's Night on Thursday night from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Enjoy dinner and then fun with your child at the school!

The Lexington School District 1 Artfest opens on February 15 and continues until February 26 at the Lexington County Library. There will be a special reception to celebrate student artists at the Lexington County Library, 4:30-6:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 20.

Have a wonderful weekend! Read, read, read, and exercise with your children...we are creating well read and fit Mustangs!

Jan Fickling

Note from health room:

With cold and flu season in full swing, we would like to send a reminder about medication administration at school.

Per district policy, when possible, medications should be given by parents/guardians at home before or after school hours. When medications need to be given at school, they need to be brought to the health room by a parent/guardian. All medications need to be in their original, un-expired container. Prescriptions need to have the prescription label attached. OTC medications need to have appropriate age/weight information on the label. We will have you sign a parent permission form. Prescriptions additionally need the MD signature. Thank you for helping us take good care of your Mustangs!

If your child has come home in clothes from the health room, please launder and return them. We frequently run low on clothing, particularly pants. Thank you!
