Our exciting day is coming soon!!
Jump Rope for Heart
Friday, April 24th, 8:45am-2:45pm
Wow, it’s April and that means it’s time for the Jump Rope for Heart! This event is an educational program and fund-raiser, sponsored by the American Heart Association, and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The money that is raised goes to the American Heart Association to fund research on strokes and heart disease.
To ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate, we will continue to have the Jump Rope for Heart as an In-school event. Each grade level will have a specified time to jump during the school day. Students will be in teams and will take turns jumping. The event will be held outside on the blacktop, unless of course the weather dictates otherwise. If there is bad weather the event will be moved indoors to the All Purpose Room.
All students will be participating in the event. However, each student has the choice whether or not to solicit pledges. Students are NOT required to raise money if they do not feel so inclined. If your child will be raising money for the Heart Association they will be receiving a collection envelope from Mr. Sweeney. If you use the collection envelope it should be turned in to Mr. Sweeney on or before the day of the event, April 24th. If any cash is collected please convert it into a check or money order and have it made out to the American Heart Association and place it in the envelope.
