What we are learning in Room 12...
If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We are working on our fractions unit (Unit 5). We will also be touching on geometry in our math studies for this week as we prepare for the AIR math test. Please have your child continue to practice multiplication and division facts at home!
- Reading - We are dedicating this week's reading and writing time to focus on the geometry lessons that I mentioned before.
- Writing/Spelling - Our spelling pattern for this week is homophones. There will be no challenge words for this week.
- Science - We finished up matter, but are continuing to work with Mrs. Kerscher. We are starting a study on the life cycle this week.
Link of the Week: Comparing Fractions
The online math game in our math station will focus on geometry this week but students should still continue to practice working with fractions whenever possible at home! Here is a game where students can practice comparing fractions with different denominators.
