Mrs. Walters' News
Dear Bushnell Elementary Families,
Attention virtual families: A survey was emailed last Friday about your learning plans for the 2nd trimester. Please complete this survey as soon as possible so we can start planning for any students that plan to return to face-to-face learning. If you need access to this survey please email Erin Walters at ewalters@lowellschools.com. This survey is due by October 23.
Attention current face to face families: If your family is considering changing to virtual school for the second trimester, you must contact your school principal before the end of the day on Friday, October 23.
We are going to continue the fundraiser for 1 more week! As of today we have raised $3,477 for which we are really grateful for! We could really use a boost in this area and I know the kids are excited to have a dance party or celebrate me spending a night camping out on the roof! At this time Mrs. Buys class is in the lead with $1,031- can anybody else beat her?
Parent Teacher conferences happened this week! Thank you for your efforts in attending these important meetings. Research shows that students learn more and have more success in the classroom when parents are involved in their child’s education. This was an all virtual event but I’m confident we were able to send good news home to all of our amazing students and families.
Just a reminder that we have a half day of school on October 28. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 that day.
We will be holding our Halloween celebrations on Friday, October 30. Classes will all celebrate a little differently but kids can wear costumes and I can assure you lots of fun will be had. Please- no weapons or gory costumes.
Great news for students and families! The USDA has extended the waiver for free breakfast and lunch for all students through the end of the school year! We still ask that families fill out the free/reduced school lunch application. Although all school lunches are free this year, your benefits will roll over 30 days into the next school year. This information is also used for school funding allocation, and if renewed, potential P-EBD card benefits. You can apply at lunchapp.com.
The link below contains a Kent county dashboard containing all confirmed cases of covid-19 by school district in Kent county.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Erin Walters
