Patriot's Pen
Week 35: May 20-24
Message from Mireles
Hope your weekend has been as restful or productive as you need it to be.
I've had a busy couple weeks separate from work. My daughter & her competitive cheer team took us to Orlando, Florida last weekend where they went up against some of the most athletic teams in the country. They won 3rd out of 72, not too shabby. My family & others got to stay and enjoy some of the parks, the beach and Cape Canaveral but I jumped on a plane and headed back last Sunday night for STAAR testing. (Super lame Mother's Day)
This weekend has been jam packed, I got to spend quite a few hours at soccer tournaments (both Rawlinson & my son's), our AMAZING talent show on Friday night, "Electrify your Strings" on Saturday night and cheer tryouts.
As I write this, I think of all of you and the many things that fill your weekends, your evenings and your mind ---separate from work. Thank you for all you do, for all the silent sacrifices each of you make to do this work. It can be difficult, time consuming and emotional at times, but it is worth every minute.
Don't doubt for a second, that your daily impact on kids, changes the course of their lives.

Vice Principal interviews will take place this week, we had a strong selection of candidates and I look forward to this new chapter for Rawlinson. Teacher transfers will begin soon and I've been overwhelmed by the amount of people who want to be a Patriot, don't worry-- we've got high standards I won't choose lightly. ;)

WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!!
You may not see all of the work that they do, but they help make many things happen on our campus. They give generously of their time and fundraising endeavors. Your appreciation is a big part of what keeps them doing what they do. If you'd like to write them a note of appreciation you may do so and leave it with Joy or Cynthia.
Shout out to Erika Hart for helping me this Friday! She definitely made my DAY!
