What will a VIRTUAL day look like at PGMS??
Synchronous (Live) Learning and Asynchronous Learning Daily
Synchronous learning is the kind of learning that happens in real time. This means that you, your classmates, and your instructor interact in a specific virtual place, through Zoom or Schoology, etc..at a specific time.
---> * Student will be required to Zoom into each period at the time dictated on their schedule for all classes * <----- (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
Wednesday: Asynchronous Day – Assignments will be posted for completion, teacher office hours and scheduled remediation sessions
Asynchronous learning happens on your schedule. The teacher provides assignments, activities, labs, etc and you complete these on your own time for that school day.
During asynchronous times, teachers may schedule remediation groups as needed.
~ See the attached document below to review the Middle School daily schedules for all grades (Click on the link in the letter to view the schedules)~

Student Expectations for Virtual Learning
- Appropriate, school attire is required during virtual school days
-Student dress should meet all requirements of the student dress code.
- Students should not be in their bed during live class sessions.
- The area should be free of distractions (TV’s should be off, etc.)
- Make sure everyone in your home is aware when you are participating in a live class.
- Headphones are recommended.
- Keep yourself muted until you need to speak - you can hold the space bar while talking to unmute yourself. Once you let go of the space bar you are muted again.
- All school rules, expectations, procedures, and policies apply.
Recommendations for a high quality live class session experience
- Make sure you have a clean, school-appropriate background
-Solid walls work great
- Use the Virtual Background feature to create the look you want
- Windows do not typically work well unless they have curtains, shades, etc
- Look in the camera when talking, not at the screen
- Camera at Eye Level - this will help to give you the best presentation possible
- Reduce distractions such as a TV playing, radio on, or animals making noise
- Get involved - participate, raise your hand, ask questions, and contribute
