Change to Morning Drop-Off

Due to our growing community and need to ensure safety for all, starting January 8th, morning car riders will only drop-off on the side of the school, at the gym entrance. The front parking lot can still be used to park and walk students into the building, but should not be used to drop students off. We will still have staff members present to assist in the parking lot. All other staff members will assist with drop-off by the gym.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • If you need to help students out of the car for any reason, you must use the front lot to park and assist/walk your child in.
  • Please make sure students are prepared to exit the vehicle in a timely fashion.
  • Vehicles will pull all the way to the end of the sidewalk, so we can unload as many vehicles as possible.
  • Students should be able to exit onto the sidewalk. If your child's car seat is on the driver side of the car, we ask you move it to the passenger side for safety and efficiency.

We have worked in partnership with the Bee Cave PD, in order to ensure that traffic flow is as steady as possible, and all staff, parents and students are safe when arriving and leaving school in the mornings.

So, for those who bring kids to school in the mornings, please mark your calendars for January 8th. Thank you for your support!!

Clothing Donations for Nurse's Office

Nurse Hicks is in great need of more loaner clothing donations for the BCE Nurse’s Office. Items most needed include:

  • Boys pants/shorts – sizes XS/S/M

  • Girls undies – sizes 4/6/8

  • Elastic waist pants/shorts – easy to pull on and fit a variety of students

Any and all donations are appreciated! Thank you!

Early Dismissal - December 20th

Our learners will be dismissed from school at noon on Thursday, December 20.

There is no Extended Care available that day. As a result, if your child normally reports to Extended Care at the end of the school day, please be certain to update School Dismissal Manager to indicate that your child will be going home by car or bus at noon on December 20. School Dismissal Manager can be updated any time between now and 10 am on Thursday, December 20.

From Tales2Go

Giving thanks isn't a practice that should be confined to a few weeks each year. Research shows us that practicing an attitude of gratitude daily can have positive benefits for our mental and physical health. In fact, more studies are showing that helping students practice appreciation can support their academic performance. Click here to read more and see our ideas for explicit practice.
