Beautiful Partners
If you are on Twitter or have visited the school lately, you probably noticed that we have had some landscaping updates to the front of the school that we are very excited about. We were honored to partner with Chattahoochee High School in a Project Based Learning Experience that both Chattahoochee students and New Prospect students were a part of.
At the beginning of the year, both community and school members identified some needs in beautification updates around the school. After recognizing those needs, I reached out to PTA for support. The PTA board graciously added them to their budget, and because of the support of PTA members we had the funds approved. Rather than just hiring a landscaping company, we did something even better. The Chattahoochee High School Environmental Science classes were given our “problem” and were asked to design a space with specific requirements. Then, the top 12 groups presented their designs to me, several students and PTA board members and we had the difficult decision of choosing the winning design.
Last Thursday and Friday, the Hooch students took a field trip to NPE and with some of our students help, they made the design come to life. Our students learned a lot of real world science concepts and also got some great tips from our high school friends. We are so grateful for this partnership experience, and that our school looks a little nicer from the outside. We couldn’t have done it without the PTA financial support! One student exclaimed as they were going back inside “this has been the best day ever!”.
Hope you have “the best week ever”,
Amy Lemons

Sad Change
Dear New Prospect Family,
The one thing in life we can always depend on is change and I wanted to let you know of a big change happening for me. I have been offered an opportunity to serve as a full time Instructional Coach in Marietta City Schools. You may not know it, but coaching teachers is my passion! After much thought, I have decided to take on this challenge and am excited to be able to positively impact students through their teachers.
I have been fortunate to be able to work at New Prospect and many colleagues across the district during my time with Fulton County. I feel blessed that I could develop meaningful relationships with the Panther staff, families and communities. Our interactions have made a difference in my life and I am grateful to know you!
I know the character and quality of the teachers and staff at New Prospect and I know they will continue to make a difference in the lives of our Panthers.
Best Wishes,
Heather Welch
Ms. Zarzour will be stepping in to take over all Curriculum Support duties at this time. Thank you Mrs. Welch for your compassion towards the New Prospect students and community!

Come Help us at Career Day!
Career Day is December 7th ! Do you want to help your child’s class learn more about potential careers? We are looking for volunteers that are able to come in and share information about their jobs with students on Friday December 7 from 8-10am, spending about 15 minutes each with four different classes. During your presentation you can talk about your career or what your company does. Feel free to bring in hands-on materials, show videos & other visual aids to help students understand what it is that you do and why you chose the career. Last year our students enjoyed learning about web design, nursing, real estate, business, food production, etc. We need representation from the following career clusters: Agriculture, food, and natural resources, Architecture and Construction, Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications, Business Management and Administration, Health Science, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Services, Information Technology, Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales and Service, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics. Please contact Christina McLeod if you interested or need more information: mcleodcr@fultonschools.org
