Data Based Decision Making

Evaluating data to determine the instructional needs of students is a practice that school teams and teachers should be engaged in to identify and close learning gaps. In this workshop,

participants will learn the components of an effective team meeting, analyze data for learning gaps, determine intervention needs, identify progress monitoring needs, and identify evidence-based practices.

Acadience Reading Workshop

This workshop is designed for new users of Acadience Reading or those who want an in-depth refresher. Participants will understand the conceptual and research foundations of Acadience Reading, learn how to administer and score the Acadience Reading assessment, practice scoring each of the measures, and prepare for benchmark and progress monitoring.

This workshop is designed for new users of Acadience Math or those who want an in-depth refresher. Participants will understand the conceptual and research foundations of Acadience Math, learn how to administer and score the Acadience Math assessment, practice scoring each of the measures, and prepare for benchmark and progress monitoring.

The Science of Reading and the Big 5

Understanding the Science of Reading and how it applies to classroom instruction is critical to teaching all students to read. Reliable resources will be shared and discussed. In addition, this workshop will provide an understanding of effective instruction in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Engaging strategies for each of the areas will be shared.

Instructional Strategies

Now more than ever, evidence-based instructional strategies are critical to closing learning gaps and ensuring progress for all students. Participants will learn about instructional practices and strategies that are effective and engaging for all students. Participants will be given tools to implement immediately in their classrooms.

Mathematics Interventions

Academic interventions are critical to helping students succeed. This training will focus on identifying students that need intervention, identifying the appropriate intervention, identifying the intensity of interventions, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Evidence-based intervention strategies will also be covered.

Reading Interventions

Academic interventions are critical to helping students succeed. This training will focus on identifying students that need intervention, identifying the appropriate intervention, identifying the intensity of interventions, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions. Evidence-based intervention strategies will also be covered.

Advanced Phonemic Awareness: Heggerty

This workshop will provide an overview of phonological and phonemic awareness, learn the differences between phonological awareness and phonics, and how to use the Heggerty curriculum to provide daily, multisensory lessons in phonological and phonemic awareness.

MTSS Implementation

Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a framework designed to provide support for all students using a tiered model of prevention and intervention. Using PA's fidelity tool this training will provide school teams with the opportunity to assess their current framework of support, identify strengths and needs, and then develop action steps for improvement. Ongoing support will be provided for teams as they look to scale up their implementation of the framework.

LETRS

The LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) is professional learning that provides educators and administrators with deep knowledge to be literacy and language experts in the science of reading. It is a flexible literacy professional learning solution for educators and administrators. LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the fundamentals of reading instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language.
