Winter break is a fantastic time to enjoy great books with your child! As you're reading, I encourage you to continue to complete the COLTS READ logs. 5 logs are due to the library by January 11, 2019, to attend our next event! Students may turn in reading logs before school, during their library class or after school. Thank you for your support!

Jeff Anderson, author of the Zack DeLaCruz series, presented to 4th and 5th graders in December. He discussed his inspiration for his books, where he writes and his writing process.

Future Colt Storytime

Do you know a future Kay Franklin Colt ages 3-5? Invite them to our storytime on Friday, January 25 from 1:45-2:45 pm. Storytime will include a read aloud, songs and craft. There will be time to check out books or set up a library account afterwards. Please RSVP to Mrs. Piedra at karen.piedra@nisd.net to participate.

Gingerbread House STEAM Project

Thank you for participating in our November/December STEAM project! Students used recycled materials (no food) to design a gingerbread house. A new STEAM project will be announced in January.

November 2018 Library Stats

Sora: ebooks, audiobooks & more!

Sora is a new app by Overdrive that allows students to check out ebooks and audiobooks free of charge! To get started visit www.soraapp.com/welcome or download the Sora app. Click on "I have a setup code" and enter johnpaulstevens. Type S followed by the student's id number to access the account. Sora rewards students with digital badges and achievements, syncs their books across devices and gives them access to thousands of books. Link your San Antonio Public Library card to Sora and get access to even more books! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Piedra.
