WMES Talent Show Video!
Week of June 14th!
WMES Parents/Guardians,
Happy Friday! We made it! Please be advised that the last day of school for the 2020-2021 school year will be Thursday, June 17, 2021, which is a half-day. We will dismiss at 12:20 p.m. The last day of Pre-Kindergarten will be on Friday, June 11, 2021.
We have a few copies left of the WMES Yearbook. If you would like a copy, please call the school to secure one. The cost is $21.00.
All students will need to turn in their TCPS issued iPad and charger to their homeroom teacher while at school. iPad collection will be as follows:
- Virtual Pre-K: The week of June 14th (iPads and chargers)
- In-person Pre-K-5: All in-person iPads will be collected by homeroom teachers. If a TCPS technician or service contractor deems that damage caused to equipment was the result of neglect or malicious intent, parents will be notified and may be responsible for the cost of repair.
- K-5 Virtual students will need to drop off their iPads and chargers at the front office either on 6/17 or 6/18.
The Maryland Agriculture Education Foundation Inc. (MAEF) generously funded a grant for the Kindergarteners of White Marsh Elementary School! In doing so, they supplied the tools necessary to allow each kindergartener to grow two types of edible plants! Thank you to MAEF for helping our Kindergarteners grow!
We will thrive in 2021 because we are #!WMES STRONG! Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe and well!
Ms. Seidel, Proud Principal
2021-2022 Staff Updates
This has been an amazing school year filled with challenges, many celebrations, and wonderful memories that we will cherish for years to come! We have a lot to be proud of and our hard work has shown through our accomplishments. This could not have been done without a dedicated and talented staff, as well as a supportive PTO, a strong Grandparent’s Club, and a great school community. Thank you all for your ongoing support. I am so proud of our students, teachers, and support staff who are so dedicated to providing an outstanding education to each child at White Marsh Elementary School. I would like to personally thank each of you for your support; I know that with the same support, the coming years will only continue to bolster our educational program. I wish each of you a safe and relaxing summer.
I wanted to share some staffing updates with you.
We wish the following staff the best as they will be transferring to other schools within Talbot County: Kristen Dove -EHS Assistant Principal. We wish Emily Weeks, Speech Therapist, the best as she will be returning to her home state of New Jersey. Also, we would like to wish all the best to Dawn Gencel, Tony Mills, and Debbie Thomson who are retiring from WMES this year. We wish each of these amazing individuals all the best and we thank them for their commitment and dedication to our school community! We are pleased to announce Jordin Fairbank will be joining our White Marsh family as our Administrative Intern. Jordin has a great deal of experience in education; we know she will be a great asset to our school. Lillian Blizzard will be teaching 4th grade and is very excited about starting her teaching career. Also, Sarah Emerson will join our Special Education team. Ms. Emerson taught at Easton Middle School this year.
