ELA Week 8
Mrs. Boyd
WHAT WE ARE UP TO
Last week, students worked extremely hard figuring out figurative language, as well as sound devices. They out "hyperbole'd" each other and even wrote an alliteration rap. In addition, they created a PicCollage to show their understanding. As usual, you will see some of last week's goals still on the agenda for this week. Students also read "Call of Duty" which they will be working with this week to demonstrate that they have mastered literary nonfiction. For the remaining three weeks in October, students will read some spooky stories to kick-off our fiction and drama unit. Fiction is my favorite genre to teach, and I hope the kids come to love it as much as I do.
Tarleton Teachers
Last week, we had the honor of having Mrs. Coleman and Miss Moreno in class with us. We had so much fun with them and know they will be great teachers.
Seesaw
Seesaw is a great way to link parents to students while they are at school. Parents may view work, parent notes, and other critical information through this app. Expect more information to come home soon.
Family Picnic
The 6th grade family picnic will be on October 20th at 12:16. Families can bring a lunch or purchase a lunch for $3 per person.
