Principal’s Message
As a reminder, the Knights of Columbus are hosting a family-fun evening this weekend: their annual luau! See the flyer in the parish section for more information on how to buy tickets! We hope to see you there!
As a reminder, we do not have school this Monday in observance of Labor Day, and we will have a minimum day this upcoming Friday, September 7th. Dismissal will be at 12 pm. Extension is open.
September 8th is International Literacy Day. We will celebrate this day on Friday, September 7th, by allowing students to come dressed as their favorite book character. Costumes must be school appropriate and follow free dress dress code (can be found in handbook). No weapons of any kind are allowed.
As a private school, we go through an accreditation process. Accreditation is a voluntary dual-purpose process that we go through to:
- show that we are worthy of the trust placed in us to provide high-quality learning
- clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement as a school
We are dually accredited through Western Catholic Educational Association
(WCEA) and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are due for our visit this school year, and a visiting committee will be on our campus from March 19th-21st. As a result, you may have noticed additional half days on the calendar. We, as a staff, need to prepare a self-study document for the visiting committee and prepare for their arrival. The first Friday of every month is a half day so that we can work on our self study. This is a very involved process, as we have been working on this document since last year.
The half days once a month on Wednesdays are so that the teachers can attend professional growth in the areas of blended learning and science. Thank you for your understanding with this as we continue to improve our practice for the benefit of your children.
