RIT Nation

Here we are in the middle of the semester and there are many opportunities for growth in the weeks ahead.

Please join us as the Newman Catholic Community welcomes Fr. Pat Conroy, SJ to RIT on Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14th. As you can see from the photograph above, Fr. Pat blessed Pope Francis as he entered the Capitol Building before the joint session of Congress on September 24, 2015. This picture was taken by the Vatican photographer. Fr. Pat will have dinner with us on Tuesday, October 13th at 5:30 pm in the Skalny Room and then speak in the Allen Chapel at 7 pm the same evening. All are welcome. Please sign up for the dinner so we know how much chili to make! Sign ups outside the chapel after Mass or by email: amncpm@rit.edu

You are also welcome to join us for a Milkshake Mass on Wednesday, October 14th at noon in the Allen Chapel. Fr. Pat will preside at a daily Mass (about 30 minutes) and then milkshakes will be served in the lobby after Mass.

There are some great retreat opportunities coming up in the weeks ahead. The three retreats are very different in purpose. Take a look and see if any one of the opportunities jump out at you. You can sign up outside of Mass or by email. Each of the retreats cost $10. As always, if money would keep you away, please let me know and we can work something out.

Although there are no classes on Monday, we will still have a 10 am and 5 pm Mass this weekend (Columbus Day weekend). And remember, Tuesday is a Monday schedule on campus. Next weekend we will add a Mass on Saturday at 4 pm for Brick City Weekend.

Have a great week. Know that we are here for you and we pray for you daily!

Peace friends!

Teaching and Milkshake Mass - Wednesday, October 21 @ 8 pm

Ever wonder why we do what we do at Mass? Fr. John Hayes will celebrate the Eucharist with us and we will stop and talk about why we do what we do at Mass. And, after, milkshakes for everyone. This Mass will last an hour.

Wednesday morning Mass 8:15 am at Guardian Angels Church

Last semester, a group of students gathered on Wednesday mornings for Mass at Guardian Angels Church in Henrietta. You have been asking again, so let's get it started! We meet at the Center for Religious Life at 8 am and are back on campus for 9 am classes.

If you are interested, email Alice amncpm@rit.edu or Trevor Brudz tpb4175@rit.edu . This year we have two cars going, so we can take up to 9 people.
