Bryant Recognized by ALABCA
Garrett Bryant will be receiving a scholarship award on Saturday from Alabama Baseball Coaches Association. Garrett will be honored on Saturday during the 7 A Baseball Championship game. He will be recognized and presented with a plaque along with the scholarship award. He was chosen for their TOP 100 team and made their TEAM ALABAMA! Congratulations Garrett on your success!

Parents/Guardians, the end of the school year is May 24, 2016. No medication, with the exception of asthma inhalers, Epi-pens and diabetic supplies will be given to students to transport home. Parents/Guardians will need to come to the school to sign out these medications. All medications not retrieved by May 25th will be destroyed in accordance with Alabama School Health Service’s Administrative Medication Policy. Please plan now. Student Expo Day
Get ready for student Expo Day July 26th! Students must come during their scheduled time. Expo day is always a fun day to see everyone from summer break. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Schedule
We will be giving “numbers” out as the students arrive and get in line for Expo. We will begin giving numbers out approximately 45 minutes before your grade level time. The line for Expo Day will form at the outside door to the lunchroom. Once a student receives their number, then we will allow them to go inside the lunchroom. The lunchroom will be used as our “waiting room” until their we start Expo Day!
- Senior: 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
- Juniors: 10:30 AM. to 11:30 AM
- Sophomore: 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

National Science Foundation
RSI Tribal Scholarship
The Tribal Scholarship will award $2,000 towards any degree or diploma program. This scholarship will be awarded and applied incrementally to the student’s account over the 2nd half of the 1st academic year of the student’s program. Candidates must be Native American, Alaskan Native, or Native Hawaiian. At least one of the following forms are required for verification; Certification document of verification of Native Blood, Affidavit of Indian Blood, Birth Certificate, and Photo ID. Candidates must meet all other admissions requirements and be scheduled to start training prior to applying for this scholarship. Candidates must present required documentation at the time of enrollment with RSI. Applications are to be submitted prior to starting classes. A change in the student’s start date may cause a forfeiture of the scholarship. Only one scholarship will be awarded per student (the one that is most beneficial).
Amity Native American Scholarship
The $4,500 Amity Native American Student Scholarship is designed to provide tuition assistance to eligible students who are of Native American, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian descent, and have been or are currently enrolled at Amity Circle Tree Ranch. Candidates must be Native American, Alaskan Native, or Native Hawaiian. Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form into Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.
Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend - Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.
1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of the school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.
2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.
3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.

Recycle: Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
Reward Cards: Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit: Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.
