Author & Illustrator Mike Lowery to speak at Stone Bank School
Once again, the very generous Books & Co. in Oconomowoc has offered to bring an author/illustrator to visit our school and speak to our students.
Mike Lowery will be here on Thursday, October 12th from 9:30am - 10:00am. 2nd - 5th grades are invited to meet Mr. Lowery and learn more about his process of writing and illustrating books.
You may be asking yourself, Mike who? Mike Lowery is the illustrator of numerous popular children's books including "Gingerbread Man Loose in..." series. He is also the author and illustrator of the Doodle Adventures series (for grades 2 - 5). Doodle Adventure is like visual Mad Libs: part game, part graphic novel, and a thrilling, interactive experience in which the reader draws him/herself into the story and becomes the star.
Any students interested in ordering a copy of the book(s) ahead of time, an order form is attached.

Hartland Chamber of Commerce ~ Trick or Treat
Come join the fun at our 33rd annual business Trick or Treat. The event will be held on Thursday, October 26th from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Costumed children through sixth grade are invited to join in the Halloween festivities.
The participating businesses will exhibit an official Halloween poster in their window.
Children can pick up a Trick or Treat bag with goodies from participating sponsors at the Hartland Chamber of Commerce office at 116 W. Capitol Drive. The number of bags is limited to 1000 so children are asked to bring their own bags as well.
The streets are open to traffic during Trick or Treat hours so children are cautioned to cross only at designated areas. Volunteers from the community will assist police in helping children across the streets. Parents are asked to accompany their children throughout the evening.
This event goes on Rain or Shine so dress accordingly
