Greetings from Ms. Hardy!

Dear Finger Lake Families and Students,

This is your community school principal, Ms. Hardy, welcoming you to a new year! I am absolutely honored to be serving alongside this team! I am proud of our accomplishments as a school and look forward to continued growth, learning, and fun. This will be my first year as the Proud Principal of Finger Lake Elementary, but my 7th year as an FLE staff member. Since 2015, I have worked at Finger Lake as a classroom teacher and then as the instructional coach. I completed my principal internship at Finger Lake under Susan Steele, and I have served on several teams throughout the years. Needless to say, I am invested in FLE and I am so proud to be a part of this incredible team. I am passionate about keeping all decisions centered on what is best for students.

We have many exciting opportunities at Finger Lake and are always looking for ways to meet the needs of our students and families. In addition to a variety of athletic and academic opportunities before and after school, Finger Lake is a Title 1 school. Our Title 1 designation allows us to receive additional funding for our students and families as well as provides us with structures for family engagement events throughout the year. We want to collaborate with you to ensure that all children obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency in challenging state academic standards and on state assessments (Section 1001, ESEA Title 1).

We continue to work diligently to support our students to learn and understand the significance of our Guidelines for Success, give them opportunities to demonstrate these virtues/characteristics at FLE, and celebrate their achievements! It is a pleasure leading you! The staff at FLE prepare students for success because we love kids, love FLE, and love our community! Please feel free to share your ideas, comments, and suggestions anytime. Finger Lake’s Guidelines for success are at the core of Finger Lake. We use them to guide our days both in and out of school!
