Dear Alamo Families,
Welcome back from a nice break. I hope your 4-day weekend was filled with sentiments of love. I am impressed by how the Alamo community comes together to shine through the dark shadows of this pandemic. The Valentine's and gifts delivered last Thursday are a testament despite our challenging circumstances, demonstrating that we care through words and actions, prioritizing our community's value.
And while gifts and cards are always appreciated, the best acts of love are the spontaneous moments of appreciation found in the little things:
- Smiling to encourage.
- Sharing.
- Lending a hand.
- Returning a kind word.
Thank you for going out of your way to make someone's day happier.
Our community also understands the value of forgiveness and the giving of grace to others. As we continue to persist through this pandemic, patience and tolerance levels may be lower. During these times, let's come together and remember that we are all doing our best under extreme conditions. We know that this week's first Monday Schedule presented new challenges for our students as we adjust to a new program requiring longer asynchronous time. The teachers and I will continue to evaluate our Monday Schedules to ensure we offer engaging activities.
Furthermore, we embrace a growth mindset, demonstrate flexibility in thinking, and empathize when at odds. The word "yet" is essential, and failures are opportunities to try again.
We look forward to welcoming our hybrid grades 3-5 students tomorrow! Grades K-2 students will be so excited to see them. We want our remote students to know that they are as important as anyone else.
Yours respectfully,
Mrs. Salazar

ALERT - DOMESTIC TRAVEL Please keep everyone safe!
Especially important for families with students in our hybrid program.
CDC recommends getting tested and staying home and self-quarantine after domestic travel.
Get Tested and Stay Home After Travel
- Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.
- Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.
- If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.
- If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.
- Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.
Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements after travel.
Also, take these actions after you return from travel to protect others from getting COVID-19:
- Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet/2 meters (about 2 arm lengths) from anyone who did not travel with you. It’s important to do this everywhere — both indoors and outdoors.
- Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when in public settings. Masks are required on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations.
- If there are people in the household who did not travel with you, wear a mask and ask everyone in the household to wear masks in shared spaces inside your home for 14 days after travel.
- Wash your hands often, or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness.
- Watch your health: Look for symptoms of COVID-19.
